The user can prevent connections to your computer over a network. This is useful if there is a dangerous worm spreading over the Internet, or if you are connected to a network in a public place and you want enhanced security. Worms have the self replicating property that is they can multiply themselves and allow the malicious users to access your PC.
1. Click to open Windows Firewall.
2. In the left pane, click Turn Windows Firewall on or off. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
3. Select the Block all incoming connections check box, and then click OK.
