Tip #2: Increase your physical RAM to appropriate size.

Tip #3: Defragment your hard drive regularly.

On the “General” tab, select the “Selective Startup” option. Change the System Configuration Utility to the “Startup” tab. This will show you all the programs that are set to run as soon as Windows starts up. You should try to keep this list as short as possible.
