Common problem in all the metros in fact all over India is increased traffic, pollution, and overcrowded public transport system according to survey’s it is estimated that 70% of mumbai cars a single passenger and this comes to around whooping 15 lakh empty seats on the road daily this is huge loss to economy if carpooling was implemented in at least even 30% of those cars it is calculated that 20% of the city traffic would have been reduced this is really impressive figure.

Though Carpooling is not a new concept was started in 70′s in western countries but carpooling is a new concept and unknown to most of them in India.So what exactly is car pooling?
Carpooling is to share a car by driver with two or more passenger usually for commuting who is from same source and want to travel to same destination on regular basis.

Carpooling can also be done by casual commuters say if a two person are in same neighborhood and wants to reach airport at same time or if two or more persons from same area wants to visit a airshow in nearby city etc, they can carpool there are various websites who are offering this service for free and maintain a synchronized check list, some countries even introduced HOV (high occupancy vehicle) Lanes to encourage carpooling and fight against traffic congestion.

Carpooling also has certain advantages such as reduces green house gas emission, reduce driving stress, decreases pollution and global warming, conserves fuel and economy, reduces traffic, saves parking space and much more.With many advantages carpooling comes with few in flexibilities such as poolers may some time have different work timings and if poolers wants to en route if they have some work in other location it might be a problem for fellow poolers.
